iPhone: Behind the clever marketing…

iPhone 3GAs any half-decent technology fan knows by now, the new Apple iPhone was announced last Monday, with UK having the privilege to be one of the first countries to welcome it on the 11th of July. So what has changed from the previous model? Frankly, not much, but just enough to get you thinking about it. Especially if you consider the incredible price of.... free! Tempted? Lets take a closer look...

Bag-Borrow-or-Steal

Louis Vuitton ParisFYI, I never shop at TopShop. High Street is not particular bad for me. I love some of the pieces coming out occasionally. It can be a strive to find something that you’d been eying for months magically appears in 'Next' with less than 1/10 you intend to pay and 1/10 of the quality you intend to have. It’s all about high and low (a.k.a mixing cheap high street even charity shop bargain with the dreamy designer piece) - I convince myself. Hoping the punishment day will never come: running into someone 10 times less than ordinary or 10 times 'full figured' than you are, wearing the same bargaining treasure.

Three strikes and you are… OUT! (Updated)

Virgin Media

Over the past 24 hours, one piece of news seems to take the centre stage: Virgin Media to partner with BPI, the British Polyphonic Industry, to combat illegal music sharing. As the official announcement states, Virgin Media is piloting an education campaign, during which, customers found illegally distributing music will receive a notification letter from both Virgin Media and the BPI. The accounts will be identified by the BPI which in turn notifies Virgin Media that has the responsibility of distributing the notification letters. For our "piece of mind" none of the personal customer information will be disclosed to the BPI, or at least that's what the official announcement declares.

The two big “eras”…

London EyeA couple of days back, I was looking at the pile of unsorted photos that laid dormant in my laptop. Part because I was bored, part because I realised that many hidden gems existed in that collection that were gathering electronic dust. So I dug out the photos, threw away the rubish and tucked them away in albums. I've decided to split the photos into two "eras"; University and Post-University. For those who know me, going to Lancaster was the first time I experienced true student life. Doing a Bachelors in Athens is vastly different than a Masters in Lancaster. Different country, completely different location and scenery... Don't trust me? Take a look below...

A word or two on the digital age

I can still remember the time when my folks bought me my first computer...  It was back in 1996, a grey mini tower with the state of the art Pentium 133MHz processor, Diamond 3D graphics card, Sound Blaster 16 bit and a "massive" 15" CRT monitor! I kept that computer till the 2nd year of University, September 2002 and was still working perfectly! Of course, it took one hour to convert one CD to mp3's and literarly a week for ripping a DVD movie, but I was perfectly satisfied as I did not do anything else besides writting my university essays, coding and viewing the occasional movie.
